I managed to get one thing right today

The Naked Gun went down a treat in my English corner class this afternoon. I’m really going to have to do something about those writing classes, though. I’m just as bored as the students, and the book isn’t helping.

And that English corner thing isn’t really an English corner. It’s a proper class with a set number of students meeting once a week and I get to do with them pretty much what I like so long as it is:

  1. In English; and
  2. Legal.

So, yeah, why not watch the occasional film?

Gotta do something about writing, though.

And I have to figure out how to say “laminating plastic” in Chinese and where I can buy it.

  1. One of my dictionaries doesn’t so much give the Chinese word for “laminated” as an explanation (由薄片å? å?ˆæˆ?çš„). I suppose you’d have to use some phrase equivalent to “for laminate (vb) plastic”.

On the other hand, you might want to take lzh with you when you try to buy some so that she can explain it and then the puzzled shop assistant comes back with a Hello Kitty pencil case.

  2. Thanks for that. Actually, last night I completely forgot to check my dictionaries. Doesn’t matter, I won’t be able to do much about it for another day or two anyway.
