You know what? One good thing about being back in the village is the reminder that my laptop is a hell of a lot more comfortable to use than the university-supplied desktop in our apartment. I don’t know why, I just find the laptop keyboard a gazillion times more comfortable. I still feel awkward typing on the desktop keyboard.
Oh, one odd thing: On Wednesday evening I plugged the laptop in to the university broadband to quickly update AVG anti-virus and anti-software and to install Live Writer. I downloaded Live Writer easily enough, but I couldn’t install it because the laptop lacks some .NET thingamyjig. Advice on that would be welcome, in large part because it would save this lazy bastard the hassle of investigating and solving the problem himself. Doesn’t matter, anyway, I’m just as comfortable leaving blogtown open and clicking on ‘write’ whenever I feel the need to write anything as I am having Live Writer open and workable.

Hope you get the .Net install fixed. I’ve been trying to figure out why your images weren’t uploading. I did some tests here and couldn’t find a problem with my test blog: http://stuart.blogtown.co.nz/

Webmaster, Stuart, I presume, I’ll see what I can do about the .NET thing then try again. I might have to wait until I get back to Beijing and can hook up the broadband, though, I’m using the China Unicom CDMA service up here, which is not the most reliable and is often painfully slow. It’s even less reliable out here in the countryside.
