Not very good, eh?
Im not a pro translator, I did the first part at 4pm, and the second bit at 10pm after I had a boozy dinner…
Hey, you got the message across, that’s the key. Pretty good effort, though, it’s quite a long piece, and I know how exhausting that can be.
Are you a translator by trade?
I did always wonder about improving my translation skills.
No, I’m a language geek by trade, I teach English to pay the bills. I do the odd bit of translation just for the hell of it- to put my language skills to the test, hopefully improving my skills in the process, in other words. I majored in French, studied German and Russian for fun, so my degree involved a fair bit of translation, but not quite up to professional training. If you want to improve your translation skills, I would suggest Brendan O’Kane perhaps is in a better position to help you.
