I’ll believe it when I see it. In Kunming it seems that the driver does not have to yield to pedestrians while making a right turn, even if the pedestrians have the right-of-way. Ordinarily I’d ascribe it to traffic anarchy in China but Kunming has a fairly elaborate system of pedestrian traffic lights as well as traffic cops manning busy intersections during rush hour. Is this common elsewhere?
Patience, Matt. If they’re just beginning today, and that’s only officially it’s going to take quite some time to for these “better trained” drivers to work their way through the systems and start driving safely.
And what you describe sounds perfectly normal to me.
