So just in time for International Women’s Day, we get some middle-aged woman who seems to be roughly half a dozen cans short of a six-pack banging on our door looking for someone we’ve never heard of…. And then she runs up and down the stairs trying every other apartment in the building.

Anyway, that’s not the point….

Today, March 8, is International Women’s Day, and to celebrate, yesterday lzh got 100 kuai and a trip with her colleagues to the Botanical Gardens.

And International Women’s Day also marks the anniversary of Russia’s February Revolution. It’s a fascinating revolution, having happened apparently spontaneously, with no apparent leadership from any party or organisation.

Of course, I have heard those of more Bolshevik leanings describe it as a “bourgeois revolution”. Right, whatever. Workers and soldiers rebelling is not bourgeois.
