goodness

Onions just dropped into scorching hot oil- now that is a delicious smell.

And in other good news, there are plans for the Southern Hemisphere’s largest windfarm along a sparsely populated stretch of Waikato coastline. Now that is a step in the right direction.

Personally, if I were benevolent dictator of New Zealand, there’d be wind turbines anchored a short distance offshore all along New Zealand’s west coast, from Cape Reinga to the farthest reaches of Fiordland. One resource Aotearoa does not lack is wind. And I’d back that up with massive investment in geothermal energy, because that is a resource that New Zealand (very, very obviously) has more than a surfeit of.

But then again, there are probably many good reasons why I’m not the benevolent dictator of anything larger than my teacup.
