Interesting news

So I was looking for news about that virus I just posted about, and found nothing. But I did find this interesting article. It seems Lenovo is going to be offering an alternative to Microsoft. Excellent.

BOSTON – Lenovo Group, the world’s No. 3 PC maker, says it will start selling laptop computers preloaded with Linux software from Novell instead of Microsoft’s Windows operating system.

The laptops are slated to go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year and will be sold to Lenovo’s business customers as well as to consumers.

Although, I can’t quite figure out why this is being reported from Boston and not Beijing…..

Anyway, I googled Lenovo to see what I could find, and they seem to have an impressive range of localised sites. Nice to see New Zealand gets its own site instead of being lumped in with Australia as it too often is. And I’m not sure, but this seems to be the technical details of their new Linux laptops.
