question:

What could explain the sudden drop off in RSS hits to this blog? I’ve been searching, and I can’t find any explanation.

  1. My suspicion is that I get more hits via RSS during term time. Over the summer, I’ve noticed that there’s been a general drop in their number and that most of the hits I’ve been getting are from random searches.

It might be a hiccup in the feed system, of course.

  2. Yep, I suspect some technical hitch. Blogtown is being upgraded at the moment, and I’ve noticed a couple of other odd little things happening.

  3. Firefox experiences downturn every summer holiday – it’s a seasonal thing.

And for me, I click links in my Google Reader only if I want to comment on that post…

  4. Naturally…. Actually, looking at the stats, there’s a sudden drop in referrals from planetaki.com. Don’t know why that happened, but whatever.
