ice and snow

So Yanqing, my favourite county, is in the news. This time for an ice and snow tourism festival that will be held over the winter.

Well, I’ve seen the Longqingxia ice lanterns, and I have to say I was underwhelmed. And I strongly disapprove of the existence of ski fields in Beijing- almost all the snow is artificial, and the ski fields, like the golf courses, waste a vaste amount of Beijing’s already very scarce water. In fact, there’s not a lot in that article that gets me interested. But Yanqing is a great little county well worth visiting.
